About the Artwork
Yellow Sky: is a contemporary abstract painting that evokes the feeling of a garden suspended in shifting light and weather. Layers of luminous yellow, turquoise, green, white, and deep blue move vertically across the surface, creating a sense of rainfall, growth, and atmosphere in motion. Gestural marks, drips, and textured passages suggest stems, shadows, and fragments of landscape without becoming literal, allowing the viewer to experience the work intuitively.
The composition balances openness and density: a glowing yellow field anchors the painting, while darker central forms provide contrast and depth. Areas of white offer moments of pause, like light breaking through foliage. The result is an expressive, nature-inspired abstraction that captures the energy of a garden after rain — vibrant, untamed, and alive.
Why I Painted It
Inspired by the energy of gardens after rain, this work grew from my love of color, movement, and the way nature keeps reshaping itself. I’m drawn to the wildness beneath beauty — tangled stems, shifting light, wet air, shadows, and the feeling that everything is quietly alive.
I hope viewers feel pulled into a luminous, breathing space. I want them to sense renewal, curiosity, and a little mystery — as if they are standing inside a garden, a memory, or a weather system just after it has changed.
I chose paint because it lets me work intuitively and physically, building layers, scraping back, dragging color, and allowing surprises to appear. The abstract style gives me freedom to suggest rather than describe. The garden is not painted literally; it becomes a place of motion, emotion, and transformation
