The best complement is when my art moves you and evokes emotions

After retiring from a career in education, I picked up the brush full time. I have enjoyed painting for as long as I can remember. My preferred artist mediums are acrylics, watercolor, and mixed media. Initially, my concentration was realism but soon I discovered that abstract expressionism was my true love. Expressionism is best described as it does not seek to imitate reality. But, expresses feelings through unrecognizable shapes, unusual forms, and different degrees of meandering lines melding together with provocative colors. Finally, the best complement I receive is when my art moves you and evokes emotions such as happy, pleasant, sad, surprised, amused, hopeful, thoughtful, optimistic, puzzled, joyful, excited and the list goes on. The goal is for you to just get lost in the art and experience feelings.
